Historic Annapolis Foundation opens its sites to the public free of charge for its annual festival celebrating Maryland’s history and heritage. Crafts, games, and demonstrations are designed especially for children ages 5-13 years. The activities teach visitors about Maryland’s state symbols. Maryland Day marks the premiere of a new installation about eighteenth-century leisure activities in the Porch Chamber of the William Paca House. The Paca House was built in 1765 for a man who became one of Maryland’s leading patriots and signer of the Declaration of Independence. Visitors are encouraged to tour exhibits at HistoryQuest detailing the history of Annapolis from its founding to the present day. HAF would welcome volunteers to help staff the range of children’s activities taking place throughout the afternoon. maria.day@annapolis.org or Alexandra.deutsch@annapolis.org
